The Vegetarian Toronto interactive infographic introduces vegetarians to the Toronto vegetarian community. It addresses two distinct audiences: members of the public who would like to learn more about the Toronto vegetarian community, and members of that community who wish to find places to go, farmers' markets, tips, and much more.
The infographic presents information on the Types of Vegetarians, maintaining a Healthy Diet, local Resource Centres, and also connects with Eat Vegetarian in Toronto for more information on restaurants, food stores and farmers’ markets.
It was conceived in boho hippie style, inspired by the spiritual philosophy to save the world, and make it a better place to live. Some hippies choose to eat organic, vegetarian, and even vegan diets. Health food stores are a legacy of that movement. Boho is a style full of unique charm using a variety of vintage floral elements and decorative ornaments with an overall hand-drawn, asymmetrical look.
In the centre of the composition you can see the mother-tree surrounded by ornamental flowers, berries, and birds which convey feelings of life, peace and happiness. Most of my illustrations were saved in SVG format to maintain the best possible quality of the imagery.
A set of Vegetarian iconography was created in Illustrator for use in this infographic. The set was then posted stand-alone on Dribbble, and has received a big response. It has been tweeted on @popularshots (Dribbble's own Popular Shots in Twitter Feed).
The Infographic was created using CSS3 with jQuery for the scrolling page effects, as well as some JavaScript elements. Don’t forget turn your volume up and mouseover the blue bird for the pleasant sound of nature! Please feel free to explore the interactive imagery by mousing over different elements which are waiting to reveal more information, share links, and statistics (research). One of the birds holds an envelope, and will be happy to deliver your feedback to me.
