About the project

Brief

Myrmidon is a brain-training (cognitive training) game for iPhone/iPad. My role was to create UX/UI design and interactivity. Trial version of the game was tested by patients who suffer from lack of concentration, focus and memory. Orange colour as an accent colour was suggested by my employer: the research showed that orange colour helps catching attention and keeping focus.

User: Anyone who wants to train brain to stay focussed

Train our mind like a muscle! When multitasking is the norm, our brain quickly adapts. We lose the ability to focus as distraction becomes a habit. Trial version of the game Myrmidon was tested by patients who suffer from lack of concentration, focus and memory. Orange colour as an accent colour was suggested by my employer: the research showed that orange colour helps catching attention and keeping focus.

Work Flow

Game mechanic: player should find (guessing/randomly clicking on the balls) the correct ball to complete the level. Plus there are three powerups that will help to complete the level. Other levels include obstacles, different forces, etc. There are also a few themes (the same game mechanic/UX, but different design/UI).

Player should be able to navigate easily between menu options, and understand intuitively the game mechanic. The game has a training section that trains new player how to play.

UI Challenge

User interface of the game Myrmidon should be intuitive, simple and clean. Orange was chosen as an accent colour that will help catching attention and keeping focus. We worked on a few UI designs, and here are some samples:

About the project

The project is a trial version, and needs to be tested by more participants. Leader of the project has medical background, and there are clinics that are interested in testing phase (UX).
